Traditional mortise and tenon construction has always been associated with high
quality cabinets and furniture. Even though highly desirable, it is being
used less and less today because of the difficulty and cost of producing
really good quality joints. Now, high quality mortise and tenonjoints are both
fast and easy, even for totally custom sizes.
The difficulty with mortise and tenon joints is that the mortise and the tenon
must be cut separately but must fit together precisely. To accomplish
this, using traditional mechanical methods, requires that every mechanical
part, down to the cutting tool, be machined and adjusted perfectly. While you
might be able to produce a precise mechanical machine, exact tooling and perfect
adjustment is just not practical in today's woodworking industry.

Thermwood's CNC Mortise and Tenon Machine substitutes an intelligent
control for unrealistic mechanical tolerances.
The machine is simple to use. To cut a tenon, slide the part into the clamp
and press a button.
The mortise is about as simple. Slide the part into the cross clamp, align
the piece and press a button. The cross scribes produced by Thermwood's CNC
Length Processor can be used for alignment, or you can simply mark the part
where you want a mortise. General condition : Like New.
